What’s one aspect of your own internal work you’re going to commit to doing and by when? Please describe why it’s part of your most important work.
I am going to commit to pursuing earlier closes for emerging managers that meet the CST values. All too often institutions drag their feet when evaluating emerging managers and inhibit their ability to fundraise and, in turn, make a positive change in the world. Emerging manager programs and supporting these managers are great, but these modules have demonstrated — with groups like Apis & Heritage — the power of generating critical mass around an opportunity. I commit to pushing our organization to do the hard work and become an early investor in such opportunities.
What’s one step you’re going to take to embody Catholic Social Teaching in your investment decision making? By when are you going to make this investment or actualize this embodiment of CST?
@tylerblickhan and I have discussed the opportunity to highlight the CST value each impact investment addresses in our impact reviews going forward. We do this for SDGs and believe this is a natural extension of that.
What’s one new individual relationship you want to set up a time to meet within the next 3 weeks?
I would like to stay in touch with @nanafrancois. I found here approach very refreshing and love the idea of continuing this groups trans-Atlantic reach!
What’s one peer group / small group that you might initiate or join to help you advance your most important work? What’s the deal, project, change-making focus for that peer group for you? Why do you believe it will be helpful and when do you hope to initiate and conclude that group?
I would like to continue discussions around Apis & Heritage in an informal manner. A groups continue their work on this opportunity I think we can strengthen each other’s DD process by sharing notes and ideas.
What’s one collective that you’re part of or plan to join? What do you hope to learn from it? How specifically do you hope to influence and shape it?
I hope to continue learning about — and potentially participating in CIIC. It looks like a wonderful group with a compelling mission.
